Super Sprouts- Brussels Sprouts!
Brussels sprouts have risen in popularity over the years, and with good reason! They’re close relatives of kale and cauliflower, and look like adorable little cabbages. Brussels sprouts are packed with vitamins C and K, as well as smaller amounts of other vitamins and minerals. They are also high in fiber and antioxidants. They also contain some omega-3 fatty acids, a nutrient most commonly found in seafood. They’re delicious roasted or fried, and are also often eaten raw in salads and slaws.
Party Food- Perfect Vegan Bites
Imagine, you’re at a party or watching the game. Amidst the potato chips, carrot sticks and dip, and soda pop, crispy green brussels sprouts beckon you over- and look, they have a spicy sriracha dip too! Tidy, dippable, and a little unusual and creative- the type of party snack that leaves you standing next to the food table all night. Oops… Oh well, if they wanted your attention they wouldn’t have put vegan air fryer brussels sprouts where you could find them.

Making Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts and Smoky Sriracha Mayo
The key to air frying is to not over crowd the basket. Do multiple batches if necessary- I ended up doing two batches, but depending on the size of your air fryer you might need to do more or less. Cut the brussels sprouts in half, and toss in olive oil, salt, and pepper, and cook for a total of 15 minutes, opening the drawer and tossing once about half way through. If you like extra crispy sprouts, you could go 20 minutes, but 15 will get them well cooked.
Making the smoky vegan sriracha mayo is just combining all the ingredients and giving it a good stir. Don’t go too heavy on the liquid smoke- a little bit goes a long way. If you’re having trouble finding a vegan mayonnaise (in the US), try looking for the Hellman’s brand- it’s usually with the other mayo jars.
Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts with Smoky Vegan Sriracha Mayo
Ingredients
- 1 lb. brussels sprouts
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- ¼ tsp. salt
- Fresh ground black pepper, to taste
- ¼ cup vegan mayonnaise
- 2 tsp. sriracha
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ¼ tsp. liquid smoke
Instructions
- Wash your brussels sprouts, pat dry, and cut each once in half. Place in a large mixing bowl, and sprinkle with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well, so that the oil is covering all of the sprouts and not in the bottom of the bowl.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Line your air fryer basket with a single layer of the brussels sprouts (don’t over crowd!), and cook for 15 minutes, tossing once in the middle. Work in batches until all the brussels sprouts are cooked.
- While the brussels sprouts are cooking, combine the mayonnaise, sriracha, garlic, and liquid smoke and mix. Serve with the warm air fried brussels sprouts.
