Sweet/Savory Breakfast Options
In my experience, it’s much easier to come across sweet vegan breakfast options. Baked goods, oatmeal, fresh fruit, pancakes, and waffles are all pretty easy to make vegan. In the case of baked goods, pancakes and waffles, you might need to make a few swaps- a vegan milk for cow’s milk, coconut oil instead of butter, and so on, but none of those will change the outcome of your breakfast much. You can really make your life easier by picking up a box of breakfast cereal, but once I started looking at the nutrition information on those I admit I basically stopped eating cereal. Most breakfast cereals just contain so much sugar!
Savory can be a little harder- breakfast favorites like eggs, sausage, and bacon don’t just contain animal products, they are animal products. But, vegan bloggers are, as always, inventive. Not only do we have veganized versions of eggs and egg dishes, sausage, and bacon, but we’ve got savory versions of traditionally sweet breakfasts as well.
